Hi all,

I need a little help with a new video card that I am trying to use in my Dell 400sc server running Windows Server 2003.

The onboard video is kind of lame so I bought a PCI card to use. The server does not come with an AGP slot and Dell does not officially support any video on this server other than the onboard one.

When I put in the new video card, a GeForce 2 MX 400, my taskbar at the bottom of the screen dissapears. I can't see it, along with any mininmized apps or the system tray!

I tried adjusting the screen thinking maybe it was slightly taller then the previous setting and it got pushed down out if site. But that didn't help.

The only other thing worth mentioning is that 1024x768 is the only resolution that the card will function properly with. But this is my normal resolution, so it's not really a problem. Just thought I would mention it in case it bears some importance.

Any advice (other than going back to the onboard driver!) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

Did you disable the onboard video adapter either in BIOS, or by repositioning a MB jumper?
