Help! I'm on an install and the guy who is supposed to train me knows nothing!!!He started unplugging lines to power down system to put the voicemail in! HA HA Anyway-I've done one of these before in August. Here's what I got.
2port merlin messaging in slot 02
408 mlx in slot 01
rel 2.0 magix processor. pbx/hybrid
This guy already played around in this but I think I've got most of it fixed. But its not picking up when you call from an outside line. I also have one more problem-when I any ext. it goes straight to vm. Do you change this in cover delay? He didn't use the config m. msg. and I have never done it that way so I don't know what to look for. But group ext. is 770, members are 18-24, hunt type: linear
group type: integrated vmi is there anything wrong yet? the vm picks up on 770 and the extensions, I've set up night service. I've basically jumped around to different things in here I know please have merci on me:) The guy who was supposed to train me got told to leave the job site. He didn't even know how to get into the vm to program it-thank got I brought a mlx 20! He just knew how to do norstars and I'm left with a mess.

I'd just hit the config Merlin Messaging anyone and re-do it. But here's what you need to check. Make sure the VM port ext's are rotary enabled. Look under extensions, rotary enabled, then enter the VM port ext. #'s.

If you want the Auto Att to answer right away, which it sounds like, just add the trunks into the Line/Pool section of the calling group 770 that you have. Then you can go into the VM and assign the lines to the tenant.

To adjust the amount of rings to VM for an ext. is in Cover delay, then group cover. Unless you're talking about dialing them off the auto attendant and they're going straight to VM, then the VM boxes are set as transfer only.

I suggest to set up all your trunks, ext.'s and labeling and then config Merlin Mess. and let the Merlin do the work for you as far as the Mailboxes and the Directory Names in the VM.

Oh, in your title it said merlin messaging 2port. You have 6 ports assigned above. Check that.

Remember you need to have a 2.5 or later Messaging for the Auto Config to work, but DOES IT EVER WORK! (I LOVE IT!)

Plus, your extensions need to be labled, so it can import the labels.

Also, I think it will by default the LAST Calling Group (7929) for VM. (I always renumber the last one to 777, to make life easier.) The auto config figures that out when ever I have done that.
