Well no one supports SuSe Linux 6.4 anymore I know. So what happens if that's what you have on your computer.
I took my computer to a tech store and had SuSe installed by one of the techs there. Of course, this was years ago.. back in 2000.
The problem is that I can't login to my system.
When the login GUI appears, I see four types of users to login (1)guest (2)root (3)user and (4) my username.
Whenever, I do log in using any of the user types above and tab to the password, the cursor doesn't appear to move.
So I want to know if I can bypass this login GUI. I recall being able to do so at one point. But can't remember how to do it anymore.
I tried emailing the new support for SuSe Linux.. but they have not been able to help me.
So I am hoping that someone here can.
Thanks in advance

IRudebwoy,

I tried resetting my password by going to the Lilo prompt. At the LILO prompt, I typed linux initi=/bin/bash. I was then taken to a prompt that said init-2.03# At the blinking cursor, I typed 'passwd' and the next prompt "New password:" showed and I typed my new password and "New password (again):" came up. I typed the same password. At this point, I got an error message that read, "Error: Password NOT changed" and at the next prompt it read, "passwd: Authentication token manipulative error."

So, I'm at a loss of what to do at this point.
Have you ran into this ever?

I hope someone else has seen this.

Liz
