Hi!

I'm a neewbie to Solaris /UNIX so please have patience.

Setup is Solaris 8 on Sparc 60 boxes.
2 identical machines wich hosts a client application.

The problem we are experiencing on one of the machines is that the locale for local user accounts are set to en_US.ISO8859-1 when connecting to the machine by other ways than local logon or rsh, ie. telnet or Citrix ICA.
It should be sv_SE.ISO8859-1 as the correct machine sets the locale

I have synced all logon scripts for the user and they are identical between the two machines.

I need help to trace where the locale settings for the user account is set and correct the missmatch.

Any input is helpful!

Cheers,
Chris

The other machine wich is correct sets the locale to Swedish

Ehum...

I can't enter the above specified directory even as root...
root is owner and rights are rwx.

Anything special I should know...?

Feel like a total lamer, please help...

/Chris

It's a file, not a directory. :)

Try cat /etc/default/init. Presumably you can cd /etc/default okay?

Hi!

Well, problem is that I can't enter the /etc/default directory.

But I think I know why.
I'm connecting via a Citrix Secure Gateway to a Citrix server, from there I telnet to the Solaris box.

I called a guy to do it locally it worked fine, guess that the telnet session somehow stopped me from entering the /etc/default dir.

We made som changes to the init-file now.

Thanx for the help, everyone's a "n00b" at some point right?
:)
