Need help with install of hard drive for storage

Hi and many thanks for time spent helping on this site,
Easy issue here I'm sure. Adding extra hard drive, it is installed and recognized by win 2000 as new hardware, set up as primary slave but not seen in my computer. Cannot seem to find how to format this new drive in Win2k. If possible could some one direct me to or help me in this process. I would greatly appreciate it. I serched through previous posts but was unable to find any help.

You need to use disk management in 2k to initialise disk/create partition(s) - run diskmgmt.msc (it will then appear in My computer)
