Hi All,

I have a question regarding DSL. If anyone has any ideas about it, please let me know!

Scenario: I need to set up a DSL network between two of our company's branches. We want to set up 2 separate DSL lines, so that when either branch needs to pull data, they benefit from the 512k d/load bandwith.

Requirement: If a branch needs to send data, they will only be able to send the data at 256k. I'm trying to create a scenario that when either of the branches need to send data, the receiving server gets the message to do this, and automatically pulls the required data, thus utilizing the 512k bandwith as well... in a way, cheating, to "send" data at 512k bandwith?

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

Thanking you in advance,
Kind regards
Paolo

there is no "pull" everything is sent, your upload speed is 256k.

If the only use of DSL at the branches is to move data between themselves, you will never see more than 256k, as that is the upload speed.

If they have general internet access as well, they CAN get 512k when data is coming from some server that can do 512k uploads, just not between branches.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

You might want to look at a lease line solution or SDSL instead of using ADSL.

Another way is to get multiple adsl and bond them together.
