Does anyone know if there are plans to support CESID on generic SIP end points? I am currently looking to deploy about 300 generic SIP (Polycom) devices but the 3300 does not supprot CESID for these. I can do it through CPN but I am limited to 100 entries so this will not work.

I see that 8.1 will be out soon, does anyone have an idea of the changes?

I am using the Polycoms because for my situation they are inexpensive and function well.
(Mitel has enough of my money)

Thanks

Wooow!

No, no additional support for CESID on the road map.

What's wrong with functional sets at a reasonable price?

Don't give up on CPN so quickly.

If I am correct in assuming that each device has a Separate DID associated, then you might get by if you can convince your Telco provider to provide different Addresses for 911 on each outbound DID.

For this you would require only 1 entry in the CPN Tables.

Extension range Substitution
1100-1399 NPANNXxxxx

NPA is Area Code
NNX is Office Code
xxxx is XXXX (sends DN of Station)

I can get a nice LCD Polycom (320) that works great for $80. You can't get that in a Mitel. Don't get me wrong, I like Mitel but when you need to deploy 300 sets and they require LCD your just not going to get that in a Mitel. The cheapest I can get with an LCD is the 5212 on state contract for $150. I can save the taxpayers thousands with a decent Polycom; however doing E911 with generic SIP may be a problem when I can only do 100 CPN entries. I don't understand why the SIP endpoints don't register in the CESID form. Is this Mitels way of forcing our hand?

kwbMitel - I am not sure I follow you.

I know you can insert ranges in the CPN, and I do have DID ranges. Each extension number has its own DID. They do not match the extension number though.

All DID's have the same physical address associated with them.

I think if I understand correctly, I would have to have DID ranges that match my extension numbers for this to work, correct?

Yes, you understand correctly, the DID would need to match.

Do some of the digits match? the last 2 for example. The substitution can work for partial matches too.

If nothing matches, then your original statement stands. 100 lists aren't enough.

kwbMitel - I tested it out this morning and what you siad is correct. I guess my options are.

1) Buy all Mitel (not gonna happen)
2) Wait for CESID support of SIP endpoints. (this makes no sense why it does not do it already.)
3) get new bloks of DID's and spend a day or two reprogramming. (If I can save tax payers 15k then I guess this is my best alternative.

Is there any way to get more CPN entries? Upgrade or feature purchase or is this a limit of the switch?

Thanks for yoru input. Much appreciated.

100 Lists is the new limit, it used to be 10. Don't you feel lucky.

As long as the substitution numbers are the same format, each list can have multiple ranges and individual entries.

I've never used more than 10 lists so I'm having difficulty imagining your numbering scheme that requires more than 100.

Can you provide some example entries. Maybe we can consolodate some entries and reduce the lists required.

kwbMitel - I would be happy to send you a copy of my CESID file if you would be willing to take a look at it and maybe give me your suggestions. I can not find on the site where yoru email address is.

Thanks
