This is my first time here and I'm relativly new to Flash. I got a site called CravinMusic.com and I want to make it in totally Flash (so if I get help I'll be coming back here alot) Here's my problem:

I have buttons on my site that have other buttons come out of them with the move function. How do I go about using the main page like frames in HTML. I.e. Have a main menu on the right side at all times, and on the left side change as the user navigates through the site.

I hope someone out the can help me!!!

just use scenes..build your menu in scene 1..when your done right click and choose copy frames..paste those frames in new scenes how many ever you'll need..then with your buttons say for home, about us, services, etc, place your body contenet for each scene in it's appropraite one..use the gotoandplay scene action to navigate through each one..

simple..

You can also build it with a frameset the same as in an ordinary html frameset. One of the advantages of doing it this way (for instance a top logo frame, a navigation frame on the left, and a main display frame...), is that you can change (add-delete-replace...) something in one movie without having to change the others.
But that's up to you to decide! Carl's method is also feasible!

You could also just use one sceen for your main site and use movie clips for you content(pages). I don't know how true this is as I havent checked but, I have heard that using multible sceens adds to your file size as all layers in all sceens get loaded even if they have the same content. I guess this is also true with movie clips so, whatever works best for you is the way to go. roda B-)

Learning is like rowing against the current. As soon as you stop, you start going backwards.

Thanks Everyone, I got my problem all figured out!
I used a main movie page and then for my links I used other movies. I also used to GoTo command and directed my links to the other side of the page.

Thanks again everyone!
