Hello tek-tips!

I have a customes who have a 9608 and mobile-twinning. He has call waiting activated both on user and cellphone, no reserve last CA and two lines in buttonprogramming.
I know that when the twinned phone is busy the pbx won't send another call to the cellphone but I'm trying to figure out a workaround since this is a really important function to my customer.
I thought about maybe making an internal twinning and allow 2 calls and somehow forward it to the cell. I also thought about make two fictive users and put in a group with his real number. But kind of get the same result when I try it "in my mind" :)
Maybe a forward when busy to a shortcode would trick the IPO?

Do you have any ideas?

Sorry for bad English.
Regards,
h0lle

Hi H0lle,

have you tried to make a dummy H.323 Extension with a forward to mobile.
Put Both Ext into a group sequential and point ddi to group?

K

Virtual users witt twinning and bridged appeareance buttons?

Make a hunt group for calls to his extension.
In the hunt group members, put his primary phone and a virtual/fake extension.
Set mobility on both his extension and the virtual/fake to his mobile.

How about enable a divert on busy/no answer to his cell phone?
When he has answered a call on the mobile and another call arrivesit will not ring the twinned number but it will ring the fixed phone and if the no answer time expires it will ring the cell phone. If the cell phone has has call waiting enabled it will announce the second call.
Another option can be to enable Announcememts, then the second call will wait to be answered and in the mean time the caller will hear the queue messages.
Figure it out, maybe a mix of features may enable to get what he wants.
If you have VM Pro then send the caller to VM Pro and use a announced transfer so the caller will be held by VM Pro until the user is free to answer the call.

Big thanks for your answers! Looks like I have a couple of tests to do! We don't use VM Pro in this installation unfortunately.

Thing is, he has one extremely big customer and when that company is calling he better be available. That's why we both need to find a way of getting call waiting and number-presentation working.
Thank you so far, now sleepytime! :)

Seems like the way to go is a huntgroup with an extra user with the same mobile-twin number. Generates an error but solves the problem! Forward when busy don't work.

Which version?
I think with 9.0 and the mobile app including voip does do this.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

H0lle, your group idea is what i like.
You thought outside the box and you have hit it.
I would use that trick too in the field if i have too.
Star for you.

Hmmm..twin 2 extn to same mobile number will mess up the FNE features, keep that in mind.

Kind regards

Yeah I will. He does not use shortcodes and FNE for voicemail etcetra, all goes to his mailbox. But I might get a problem with his MEX-integration (don't know if you use that at the other side of atlantic but in that case maybe we can route calls to cellnumber directly to cell instead of pbx.

He definetly cannot use the mobile client for calling etc. IP Office will not know which internal number to link.
I think it is a bad solution leading to unpredictable errors and even reboots.

Damn. But if both are correctly configured I can't see why it won't setup an outgoing call. The busy indicator and call pickup on deskphone is gonna be a problem, that I can understand. I'll see If the customer is up for some testing next week!
[cheers]

Group trick suggestion was mine, as we've done it elsewhere.

To avoid the error about two twinned numbers being the same, create a free google voice number set to forward to the cell. Use the google voice number as mobile twin.
