Need help totalling subreports in Main Report

I would set a textbox on the main report with a source of something like
=[subreport1].[Report]!txtsum[countofemp] + [subreport2].[Report]!txtsum[countofemp]...
where txtSum[countofTemp] is the box with the individual values.
This can be done from the report designer or it can be done on the fly from VBA with "textbox1.source = [sub..."
