My dns server on my windows 2000 server machine was giving me some errors. my dns log was overloaded with warnings regarding my dns server reciving packets to itself and my system log was full of netlogon errors regarding 600.serv.bla bla bla dna operation refused and I couldn't fix it for the life of me. I tried everything I could find. So I decided to blow it out and rebuild my dns server. I deleted the zones uninstalled dns from add/remove programs and deleted the dns folder out of the system32 folder. then reinstalled dns and went back to set things up and my old zones were back in there. I just deleted them again and set up new zones, forward and reverse Active Directoru integrated with dynamic updates. I now have no folders in the zone folder. I need to complete remove it out of the system so I can start over. any one know were all the hidden settings are stored.
