Need help retrieving router information

I was wondering if there was anyway you could automate the process of telnet-ing into a cisco router and retrieving its information such as its model number, configurations, and type of IOS its running without actually doing manually for each individual IP address. I have a table of about 5000 routers so I'm looking for a more simple solution that would help me out, perhaps there is some kind of script?
 
Sure.. you need SNMP installed and configured on all 5000 routers.. The utilities set I like is solarwinds. There is also a utilities that works nicely called "Cat-tool" which also can catch the switches info as can solarwinds. I find SW to be a bit more proffesional and polished.. still it's cheap.. under 400 for the full on package:
