I have run scanner -i to rebuild the media and client indexes.

However, when I mount the tape, and go into Networker User and click on recover, it does not show any data...it simply shows "Local". I know there is data on the tape.

As I am typically an ArcServe and Veritas user and have never used Legato, is there something else I need to do in order to read the data on the tape? Like Inventory the tape or something of that nature. I must be missing a step.

Thanks in advanced for your help.

One more bit of information that might be hindering me...

We have gone from NT Domains to Active Directory and our DNS naming has changed from SERVER.Domainname.COM to SERVER.Domainname.BIZ. Will this effect the indexing and the ability of Networker to read from the tape?

Thanks again.

Have you tried a directed recover to see if the data shows up that way?

Hi,

1.Check in nwadmin window/clents how many clients you have.
If the tape you've scanned belonged to the different client - you may need to switch clients to see it.

2.If you change DNS - Networker normally will create an extra client that has the new DNS ending.

In order to see old tapes - you have to add an alias in the client (detailed view) with the old client name (SERVER.Domainname.COM ) "Long live king Moshiach !"
