I have rendered hour long projects before in premiere pro 1.5 now in 2.0 it is taking 24 hours to render an AVI. The system I am on now is far superior to my previous one with 1.5 on it. What can I do to cut the rendering time to normal? What am I doing wrong to cause this error? I was on an XP laptop with a 2.6 processor and only 512 ram, Now I am on XP media center dual 2.6 processors and 2 gig of ram.

Thanks

Perhaps you have a virus or a virus detector or other program running?
Have a look at the computer performance (CTRL ALT DEL then Applications & Performance in XP)to see if something like a foriegn application is running and taking up your cpu or memory.
Disconnect from the internet and disable your virus detector when using Premiere.

Sounds as though something is causing the whole timeline to re-render.

I would check carefully to make sure that the project settings match that of the source clips. Best to use a suitable Adobe-supplied preset than set up your own unless there is good reason for doing otherwise.
