Hi I need some help with an Exchange restore problem.
I tried restoring Exchange Server from a back-up copy taken a few days back.
I thought I had successfully done the restore until I tried mounting the Mailbox Store.
Got several messages the main one being,c1041724. "An internal error has occurred. Try re-statrting the Exchange System Manager or Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or both."
Did this but still same error.
So thought I would restore the Exchange back up from last night. Again no error messages on restore BUT again same error message when trying to mount the mailbox store. Same applies to the Public folder store.
Had a quick search round the web and did the following,
Re-named the MDBDATA folder and created a new one called MDBDATA completely empty.
Re-ran Restore bringing in Exchange Store and logs. Made sure that Last Backup set was ticked.
Completed apparently OK but still same message, other error messages in event viewer are,
Source Event ID
MSExchangeIS 9518
MSExchangeIS 9519 Error starting DB
ESE 619
Information store(3016) First Storage Group, Attempted to attach to database ‘C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb’ but it is a database
restored from a backup set on which hard recovery wasnot started or did not complete successfully

Have I missed something, possibly I did not run the original restore with the correct options?
Obviously I don’t want to lose all the email data stored, what are my options please
