Below is a trace of the station with issues. If you look at the Setup Digits it is actually dialing 2 area codes (928 and 623). Can somebody please give me some advice on where I can fix this.
Thank you all for any help.

Can anybody offer any help on this please. This is running on an S8300 and it is a fax line on it's own trunk group with just 1 analog number. Faxes are coming in, and they can send out locally to the same area code but if they try a long distance then they get the above trace log.
i don't know where to change the setting so that the setup digits does not dial 2 area codes. in the log 928 is their local area code and 623 is where i am when he tries to send me a test fax.

thank you.

What else uses route pattern 172 (list ars analysis rou 172)? The system is adding your hnpa informt of the number dialed.

Kevin

Enter commant "change route-pattern-172" It looks to be Inserting digits 623. Take them out and you should be fine.

Cheers

4merAvaya i am not able to do list ars analysis rout 172

cduff this is what i have on route pattern 172, however i have tried removing the 623 area code from 1 since that seems to be what it is using, but it still does not go through. i get the same thing.

Do a "change ars analysis 623" and let me know what the call type is.

the call type is hnpa when i do "change as analysis 623

Change it to "natl" and take the area code out of route-pattern-172.

there are 4 preferences in route pattern 172 the top 2 have area code 623 and the bottom 2 have area code 928
should i remove all area codes or just certain ones?

thank you so much for your time and help with this.

i just removed them all and it still did not go through. this is the list trace

try upping the frl...
what is the frl of the cor for the station
can you paste a copy of ars ana 1623.. the trace is still showing hnpa...

the frl for the cor of the station is 6

this is the ars ana 1623

just a quick check,, disp part 2 (partition-routing-table) and it should have 172 for route pattern
in ars ana 1623, try changing hnpa to natl or fnpa...

this is what i get for disp part 2.
also i did just try chang ars ana 1623 and changed hnpa to fnpa and it still did not work. got the same thing on list trace

also,,, frl on route pattern is fine,, the npa should be the area code of the origininating call,, if the area code in the office where the fax is being sent from is 928, then the npa should be 928

hmm,, according to that partition rout table,, p2 should send you to route pattern 1... display route patter 1 as well..
do a "disp ars digit 1623"
and a "disp aar digit 1623"

dude, you got it. it was the npa change. on the route pattern the top 2 prefereneces had an area code of 623 and the bottom 2 had 928. i made them all 928 since that is the area code of the originating fax, and the fax came through to me.

thank you so much, i owe you a cold one!

this is the list trace now
