Maybe you guys can help me, I have a customer with a 0x32 and a software that prevend RAD from making a backup of his settings. He wants me to upgrade his 0x32 software so at least we can do backups with the RAD.

Will the 0x32 loose his configuration while upgrading ?

Will the NAM give problems ?

Thank's

You must post the version of NAM and the version of KSU software for proper help.

As for the RAD you probaly need to update the NRU, current version is 10.0 .

I will go on site and get this information monday or tuesday. How do we get the nam version ?

As for the RAD, I used v8 or v9 to try to backup the cartridge of the 0x32 (which was never upgraded since 1998).

Thanks,

NAM version can be found after logining in feature 983
1020000 and when you see Admin, press the number 9 blindly that gives hte NVM version

NRU is presently available as a free download at nortel website

As a general rule, before upgrading the system (PBX, KTS) upgrade the applications (VM etc) first

Montrealsoft, all versions of 0x32 software support doing backups and restores. It's just that the earliest versions, R1T1 and 1.1 need Norstar Manager software instead of NRU software.

Hummmmmm

What does this tool consists of ? a cd-rom to use with the rad ? a software cartridge that stores the settings ??

I'm quite familiar with cics and 3x8, 6x16, and I installed callpilots, NAM and 032 with fiber a few times, but first I have to upgrade a 0x32... I have the price of that "upgrade tool" but don't have any detail... is this a tool I can borrow for my installation ?

The upgrade tool is a PCMCIA card that helps provide a temp space for the database and converts it to a format the R4.1 can use. This card can be used to upgrade any number of MICS's. You simply remove the R1 cartridge, insert the upgrade tool into the new cartridge, plug the new cartridge into the MICS, power on and wait for a message that says "insert MICS card", power off, remove upgrade tool and insert R4.1 MICS card, power back on and wait a few minutes for the system to boot up with your database intact.

Thank's guys, I think I now have all the information now to proceed without dataloss and I know the versions are ok (I also found a document on nortel site about NVM compatibility).
