need help on subreport

I have a report that finds the latest office visit date of patients before a given(parameter) date.
I also have another report (to be used probably as a subreport) that finds all the latest observations of the patient before a given (parameter) date.

What I would need now is to pass the calculated date from the first report to be used as the required(parameter) date for the second report. I haven't worked on subreports much; just one or two simple ones for learning purposes.Can someone please help me out?

Once you have placed the subreport in the main report you right-click on the subreport.
From the options that pop up, select "Change Subreport Links".
Find the formula with your calculated date in the left column select it.

You'll see a box that says "Select data in subreport based on field" - if you check that box you'll see a list of fields in your subreport; you can pick a date field and it will automatically become part of the select formula in the subreport (but you're still able to change the formula in the subreport).
