Could someone help me in programming (I know it sounds ugly, but I am not good in programming - still taking course!!)

Our environment problem:
We have a db running during the night to parse data to another server, however, sometimes, there is a user logs in and querry the same db, using MS SQL, which causes the process hungs, even the user logs out of MS SQL and exit the system. As long as I kill the user's MS SQL process, then my parser process will continue.
- I don't know why the system acts like that
- I don't know how to extract the specified user in row when I am in Sybase using command sp_who

ps. I have the idea how to do it, but I don't know Solaris UNIX and SYBASE commands how to AUTO check it and kill the process to free up the other.
If I can have full code then it is excellent (!!!!!), but if you can show me what commands that I can use, then I can work out from there is also a very helpfull to me too.
Thanks
