Customer wants to install a PRI Megacom800 and Megacom from ATT. It will work out of a 4ESS.

How do I do this. They have a local PRI from Bell working out of a 5ESS

Well, if they are "PORTING" everything, and all numbers stay the same, then you should only need to change your SWITCH TYPE from 5ESS to 4ESS.

Remeber, they must provide "CUSTOM" protocol, not NATIONAL.

I guess I did not make myself clear. The customer is adding an ATT PRI Megacom800/Megacom. They will keep existing Bell PRI.

You need to first print a hard copy of current PRI info from switch.

Steps to add LD PRI to switch with a local PRI.

Under lines/trunks LS/GS/DS1, set Frame format and suppression of slot to match vendor. (Usually ESF & B8ZS).
Then change type to PRI (system must be idle and it will restart when enter is pressed)

Now set switch type 4ESS

Program B channel group (if local group is 1 then select 2) enter channels in reverse order. (Example; if slot is 4 the 0423 enter, 0422 enter for all b channels).

Program Lines for new group; example; 824,825 etc.

Set Network service for this group to CallbyCall.
Set Incoming routing for this group to DialPlan.

Print a copy of your current ARS tables.

Program lines for LD PRI to new pool (example 890)
Change routing of all LD calls to new pool in ARS.

Look at your PRI printout under Special service table, entry numbers 0 thru 7 to see if you are deleting digits. Change digits to delete to match what AT&T wants, under PRI OutgoingTbl SpecialServ (Typically Pattern 0 = delete 3 pattern 1 = delete 3, pattern 2 = delete 2, pattern 3 = delete 2, pattern 4 = delete 1, pattern 5 = delete 1).

If you’re receiving DNIS digits from AT&T you need to assure they match your dial plan or that you add them to one or more of your entries in the dial plan routing table. (You only have 15 possible entries.)

This should get you started, Good Luck
