Hi everyone,
I've got an old computer runnig under Windows 98 and I'm trying to configure it for Internet!

While installing the software for the ADSL modem, it says that it connot recognize the TCP/IP adress and cannot connect to it..
I've put 'find it automatically' but this does not help.

Can someone help me please to find this adress? plzzzzz

Thanks

Open a command prompt (in Win98 go to Start - Run - type 'command' and click OK), type 'ipconfig /all', and your current IP address will be displayed.

Actually, I believe on 98 and prior it is still

winipcfg that needs to be run from the start/run menu.

Ipconfig.exe is a command line tool included with Windows 98.

Winipcfg is a GUI based tool, with a command line option, that is likely more familiar and certainly friendlier than ipconfig.exe.

On valuable difference: in Winipcfg you can change settings. Ipconfig.exe only reveals them.
