I have a situation where I need to move or migrate users from an SBS 2003 Domain to another Windows 2003 STD domain.
I have looked into ADMT, but ofcourse there is no trust ability in SBS.
Does anyone know any way of migrating these users or even backing up the users and restoring them to the target Domain?

Thanks in advance

The supported and recommended way is to use a transition pack to remove the limitations of SBS, then move the users.

You can also add new DCs to an SBS domain, then remove SBS.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

It is possible to use ADMT you just need to make sure the two administrator user names and passwords are the same and DNS is setup correctly.

Adding a second DC to the mix as Pat suggested earlier is the simplest solution.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Thanks to you all, it was a company merger that was small enough to add users via scripting and just copy their profiles after adding their workstations to the domain. I will definitely have to remember the DC trick though.

Thanks again for your great advice.
