Hi,

There are many log files under the logs folder in livelink. I don't know which logs are used for what purpose. If anyone can help me in making me understand the full details about the log files, I would be much grateful. If there is any document for it, please share it with me.

eg. When I delete a document in livelink, where will this be logged??

Many of the log files are explained under the admin help.I beleive there is a communities posting that details thread status logs etc,but here are the most common.

agents_run101.html-log file indicating agents running on the machine.101 is the threadid spawned by the process
notify_run102.html-similarly notification log
admserv.log-The livelink admin service log .One is not expected to understand it.
LDAP_RO_2009.02.02.124850.log-DirSvcs LDAP Read only log has info on queries executed peopl added etc
javaserver.log-If livelink is served using servlet
indexengine_<crypticnumber>.log-indexengines log even though it looks like host:port and some other info it is again decipherable only by OT support.
updatedistributor_<crypticnumber>.log-Same as above
searchengine_<crypticnumber>.log-Same as above.
RMIRegistry.log-as it says
XmlImportErrors_<threadnum>.log-as it says
verifylog1.txt-Level one verification log
sysreport.txt-a lite system report
dwadminhelp.log-The admin help is a directory walker
dwhelp.log-user helpis a directory walker
password.log-DirSvcs doing hidden passwords
dcs_<nnnn>.log-Document Conversion Service log

Underneath agents-The controller records the processes
Underneat SOV-if System Object volume alerting is set this is where those logs go

Your qn if you delete a document in livelink that will go if the delete event is audited under daudit or dauditnew tables as the case may be.

Also depending on the debug setting of the opentext.ini one would see this

connect<number>.log-database transcation log for the thread in qn
thread<nn>.log-Thread logging for the livelink thread.

Most useful is this setting wantSummaryTimings=true in the options section this would bur a threadtimings<threadid>_0.log the running log of that threadid. It goes up to 9 in restarts.

trace1-1226609462.out-This is a trace error where one would see the ubiquitous "Server Did Not Respond" or SDNR.If logging was enabled at that time this would give info. For example looking at this it is telling me that thread1 crashed. If I correspondingly look up thread1.out at the time I could probably understand the script carsh.

Cheers,
