I have an Amd 2.1 running on the Via chipset. As usual the problem Iam having is game lockups due to the Via chipset's incompatibilty with my Geforce 5200 FXcard. I want o get a new mainboard that has an entirely different chipset. The only problem is that I have pc133 ram and want to find a board that supports it if at all possible. I know the sis735 supports this configuration I have. I was wondering how compatible this chipset is with the geforce fx cards. Any help or suggestions in this matter would be appreciated. I tried everthing to fix the problem with my current setup. I have the latest drivers. tweaked my Bios and even tried the Riva tuner suggestions and nothing helps.

With such a fast CPU it would be advisable to move away from such slow memory speeds otherwise it will always be the performance bottleneck.

Just my 2 cents...

Cheers!

If you are using SDram with a Via chipset then the newest chipset would be the KT266a or even older? possibly KT133a?
either way you are talking about a Via chipset that has been around for more than 2 years.
My point is on a modern Via chipset KT400/KT400a/KT600 the FX5200 will work just fine, better still would be an Nforce2 400, the only down point is, All the latest and fastest chipsets use DDR memory and as edemiere explained, your PC133 is bottle necking your system big time anyway so nows the time to take the plundge.
You will need PC2700 or even PC3200 DDR depending on what upgrade path you want to persue, two identical strips if you buy a dual channel Nforce2 motherboard.
