, it did worked..but then I tried to install the anti

use the help and support function in the windows as it

If I install windows xp again, will I lose all my

I had a similar problem with Norton telling me to uninstall the previous version also. What I did to correct the problem was to click on "start", "run" and type in regedit. This will take you to the registry editor page. On this page click and expand the HKEY_Local_Machine and then click to expand Software. Once Software expands look for any Norton or Symantec folders and right click to delete them. Make sure you delete all folders dealing with Norton and Symantec. When that's done you should be able to install Norton. Hope this helps.

I forgot one thing. Reboot your system after deleting the registry folders and before you reinstall Norton.

If you don't feel comfortable in the registry,go to the symantic site and download there removal tool, run it and it will tell you when you can reinstall norton.

Also you must have the 2002 version of Norton to work
on XP

Good luck Dave
