We are trying to configure ARCserveIT 6.61 Backup Agent for MS Exchange (for Windows NT WG/Advanced Edition), but having problems here.

NT Structure:

Domain based LAN, PDC with NT4, sp6, also running as file server and e-mail server (Exchange 5.5, sp3). 2nd Server NT4 sp6, acts as Data Server (SQL7, sp4), where backup is installed. Backup media: Sony DD3 Tape. Both in same domain.

Backup Programs:

We are trying to install following BU programs on the 2nd server, which backup files, exchange data from both PDC and 2nd server to the tape.

1. ARCserveLT 6.61 for Windows NT Advanced Edtion (sp2) - has been set up and running.

2. ARCservIT 6.61 Backup Agent for MS Exchange - having difficulty.

Problem:

Installation was okay withour any incident. But we cannot configure it. We are trying to use Service account for configuration page, where following info is required:

Mailbox (alias): Service
Service Account: Service
Password: correct pw
Local Domain: our domain

Click OK, it comes the message telling us: "Please wait while authentication .....", within 3 second, the error pop up: Authentication Failed: Fail to inialize MAPI --- Check <C:/ExchVerify.log> for details. We checked the log, but no clue was given there !

We also tried other accounts with administrator permission, but none has worked.

Did anyone have same problem before. Have we missed anything ? We don't have connection problem bw 2 servers.

Any help would be appreciated. We have to make it work !

Jack
