I am attempting to automate an ftp process to send a file out onto the 'net. My box (AIX 4.3 on RS6000) does not have a direct connection through the firewall, but can connect to other servers that do.

Is there a way to set up a "route" of multiple IP's or machines, so that the system knows a path to use to get through the firewall.

Thanks

I don't understand you question :
if you have authorized ftp from your server to go outside than where is the pb ? your routeurs should route all trafic for outside via the routeur , no ?

I can't ping, telnet, or FTP anything from the unix box to the outside world, only the intranet.

But you raise a valid point that I hadn't considered and I'll talk to the sysadmin re: the router tables.

Thanks.
