I recently upgraded to Metaframe 1.8 for W2K; replaced all of the hardware also! My one MAJOR problem is in getting my modems (2) to answer; we use them (the modems) for dial-in ONLY. I did try adding RAS which does answer the call but Citrix still doesn't communicate with them. They are configured in Citrix as async devices. Citrix auto-configured them and I have removed and reinstalled them with the same setup as in the old server. The dial-in modems are Multitech MT5634ZPX-PCI with the latest drivers. This is running on a Compaq Prolient DL380 server (W2K - SP1, 640MB RAM). Also if someone could point me in the right direction for any good Admin books for Citrix on W2K!

I usually set up a separate server to handle modems and RAS - I've not tried it on a Terminal Server.

When you say "Citrix still doesn't communicate with them", do you mean the server or the client? Do you get any errors? Messages in the event log?

If you mean the server, then Microsoft Windows 2000 handles all of the RAS services, so your issue is probably with the O/S. Check out Tech Net for specific issues.

If you mean the client, then you'll also need dial-up networking to be configured. Again, it's down to the (presumably) Microsoft operating system.

I've never seen any Citrix-specific issues with dial-up connections.

The best book I know of on this area is by Todd W. Mathers

But I have also been recommended this

...and I have made continual use of the Windows 2000 Server Bible.

Hope this helps - good luck!
