Hi Everyone,
Can someone help me how to fix /etc/fstab under shell. I edit it in terminal changing
LABEL=/ / default 1 1 to
LABEL=/home /home default 1 2...after I reboot the computer it looks for /home, my operation system was under /...it error out and put me to "shell"...in shell i can view everything but cannot change...it tells me all files are readonly. I used the override option in vi but i won't let me do it either...i think it's probably swap is not present...can someone instruct me howto edit my /etc/fstab back to my original...

thankyou

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what's happening. If it's mounting the "/" partition/filesystem as read only, this command will remount it as read-write, allowing you to change fstab:

mount -o remount,rw /

You could also boot to a cd-rom based version of linux and then mount the root to a directory and edit it from there, assuming you're having trouble mounting it otherwise.
