I have recently been tasked to research as much as I could in as short amount of time, all the pro's and con's of either Avaya or Cisco IP solutions. We are an Avaya shop with over 300 G3's nationwide. We are aggressively being schmoozed by both Avaya and Cisco and on the surface both have very strong merits. It would love to be able to see either a white paper or a simple comparison sheet to include in my research. Any input would be welcomed.

I install both AVAYA and CISCO coverged solutions for my company. It alll depends on what you're looking for.

Feature wise, definately AVAYA, infrastructure wise from an IP standpoint, definately cisco.. Each has its pluses and minuses.

What are you looking for in a system, them maybe I could help you more..

Thanks BuckWeet for the fast response. In my company there is a big push from the lines of business to incorporate IP telephony, so I would say that in the next 18 months VoIP will be standard here. My focus is in the VRU space where I have been tasked to consolodate all the different Conversants on site and a few carrier based VRU applications. I want to bring it all in house with redundancy. I also have to have as many hooks in place to allow for whatever types of linking I need like Multiple host dips, CTI functionality, robust reporting, and marketing data collection capabilites. I know most VRU can do all of this but I am interested in seeing what others have done and why they decided to go the way they did. I suspect we will also be a two vendor hybrid solution but I want to insure that I don't waste my time and money going in the wrong direction. We have Conversants, NICE recorders, Geotel, Genesis CTI, Avaya everything, Dialers, etc. Sorry, I went off a little bit there. Anything you can point me to will help out a bunch!
