Our users are having a problem sending an email to a particular domain. Here is a copy of the bounce. We have re-tried several times over several days without luck.

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at host02.#####.net. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<ume@uralmash.ru>:

Connected to 195.58.3.113 but sender was rejected.

I've looked up 550 and 553 but cannot narrow down the issue. 550 says Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable.

553 says Requested action not taken: mailbox name not allowed.

Interestingly enough, when I manually telnet to the box, it reports the same errors right after the "mail from:".

If I try the same thing from a different IP block, it appears to accept it. I have verified our small IP block is not on the rbl but don't know what else to check.

Any help is appreciated.

You should contact the admin at the other domain and ask them whether there is another RBL or other blacklist that they monitor about which you are not aware. It looks like your IP is bad to them.
