Need help decided on VPN hardware (novice) 1

Never setup a site to site so need some help trying to figure out what hardware solution to go with. Client has 1 main office and 2 sat offices. Main office 5 workstations 2 printers. both remote sites have 3 desktops and 2 ip printers. I need to setup a site to site vpn and have looked at watchgaurd x21 series.. for bout 329 and a prosafe netgear firewall vpn for bout 108, and have not looked at sonicwall yet but what is the best and reliable hardware for this configuration. Do I need a vpn firewall at each site? I am assuming so since they want to be able to print to remote offices. There might be an occasional user that will need to vpn in from outside so it has to have that capability. Looking for a good easy to setup solution but affordable as well. Any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks yall!

Sonicwall is good as well as a Netgear FVS318 router.

From my nightmare experience with the piece of junk we call our router , don't touch Cisco with a barge pole.

I have a Cisco 2620XM at home and a Cisco 3640 at work, they work great, NO failures, IPSEC vpns (remote access), AES-256 encryption. It would seem to me that the people that say that about Cisco VPN capable devices either

a.Had a bad experience---why is a good guess, but maybe lack of knowledge?
b.Lack of knowledge

burt, i'm thinking b. most times its the operator that is the problem and not the gear. ask any legitimate network engineer what product they trust in the core and it's either cisco or juniper. nuff said.

However, it's toooo tempting...1DMF---can you explain why you think that they're crap? I can count the number of intrusions, failures and problems I have had with my two CISCO edge routers that I have configured as VPN servers on zero fingers. So please...explain.

I never said they were crap, I was just offering other alternatives.

I have a Linksys which sucks and that's Cisco but the missus has two cisco routers and they have been fine.

HOWEVER, when ever I ask for advice on replacing our firewall the answer is ALWAYS sonicwall, not cisco.

oh and don't forget option d) they're fanboys!

Cisco=Cisco

Whomever you have been talking to that recommends SonicWall over Cisco...well, SW are decent, but IMHO Cisco are better---best client-to-server compatibility out there.

saying that Linkys = Cisco is like saying Kraft = Philip-Morris.

One may be owned by the other but there is not alot of real overlap between the products/companies besides the 'A Division of Cisco' label.

I work with a variety of routers/switches/etc and once past the setup, have been quiet happy with Cisco products...that said, getting them set-up correctly has been a challenge on occasion.
