I'm connected to my VMX100 voicemail system at work using hyperterminal, I haven't figured out how to create new voicemail boxes yet. I already have the telephone extensions setup I just need to add the voicemail to the extensions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a big help doktor, Thanks so much! Let me ask another question, what is a standard COS to use for a mailbox? Also I have a mailbox that is assigned to an extension but it doesn't seem to activate when the voicemail is called. Any suggestions? Thanks again doktor you saved me big time headache.

Hey doktor, what is happening is when I start to add the new mailbox this is what happens:

.A USER
ADD:331
^ DELIMITER EXPECTED
What is this delimiter expected?

When I put the comma right after the extension is still gives me the same thing.

Hi 2375

You will need look at the .L FIRS printout:

.L FIRS
FIRST MAILBOX
DIGIT LENGTH
----- ------
1 3 (MB starting with 1 has 3 digits e.g. "100")
2 5 (MB starting with 2 has 6 digits e.g.
20000)
3
4
5
6
7 4 (MB starting with 7 has digits
e.g. "7000")
8
9
.

If you are trying to add a user you will need to know the ciffer length of the mailbox number:
A USER
ADD:331
^ DELIMITER EXPECTED
What is this delimiter expected?

It is only possible to add a user "331" if .L FIRS
shows that the MB length is 3.

This is what came up doktor! It should take three digits if I'm understanding this correctly.

Hi 2375

This sounds triggy!
It should work.

Can you make some printouts for me.

Make printouts of:
.L PROF
.L USER

and post them here.

BR doktor.

Hi 2375

I got your mail.
But I think others might know how to do this.

Just delete the mailbox 308 by:

.D USER.
DEL:308

Then create it again by:

.A USER
ADD:308,308,7

It is because sys par 19 is set to NO.
(System parameter telling if Mailbox number should match extension number or not).
The sys par can be changed by : .M SYS (take care).

Otherwise you just create MB's by

.A USER
ADD: 308,7

MAILBOX EXTENSION COS SECURITY

308 308 7 Y

Then it will work.

Best regards doktor.
