i have a report built using the following SQL code in it.

Max(length(replace(substr(wdim.daymap,1,((Trunc(sysdate-1)-<<Startdate, To_date()>>)+1)),’N’))))

this is not an exact copy of the code, To-date has info on formatting within(). my question is how do i get this into formula form in v8.5? it has been driving me nuts. any help would be very much appreciated, thanks

honestly, no. i am still trying to figure it out myself. what i am doing is changing a reportsmith report to crystal and this is part of the sql i don't understand. it works with the number of working days in a month from the beginning of the month to the date entered by user. i know that is the overall outcome probably for this. sorry i can't be more clear on what it does.

Ask Crystal has some info on workdays in RDC that might help (I downloaded but haven't ever tried it). Knowledge BaseArticle ID: c2007889

ok, thanks. it may make it easier for me to do. i figured out the syntax. it counts the number of working days depending on the date enter by the user, the beginning of the month, and the working days table. thanks for the help

I saw a similar solution in the Crystal Decisions KBase under Article ID: c2005297 and also C2007889.

Hope this helps.
