Ok, here goes..I am relatively new to servers, At the office i have windows 2000 server. I have been chosen as the system administrator, and it is my job to set the lan up so that the boss can access the server from his home.
I have a 3 com switch for the lan and a D-link DI-704p connected to the broadband router. I have no idea how to begin with this and any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Ignore the last line about port forwarding, incorrect information taints that otherwise good tutorial.

You will need to forward TCP port 1723 to your server. You will also need to enable passing of Protocol 47 (not port 47 as stated in the tutorial mentioned above). Not familiar with your router, but the option is generally labeled 'pptp passthrough'. Ignore the references to ports 500, 50 and 51 as they will not apply at all.
