I'd like to put pur "Line 1000" on a phantom TN. It's an extension that hospital patients use to praise or complain about there experience. It's just for voice mail.

ld 23
req new
type acd
acdn 1000
enter to the ncfw prompt put in your voicemail number here.
enter through til the end.

add the mailbox in voicemail and all done.

This is using acd not a phantom.

Problem with using an ACD for this is that the callers will get the MMail greeting of "The person at extn 1000 is on the phone" & the play your recorded greeting. If you use a phantom you won't get this, however, phantoms aren't suitable for high call volumes.

you can change the busy line prompt in class of service admin if you use an existing class of service, or you can set up a new class for your acd mailboxes, and in class of service admin set notify user of busy line to off.

phantoms aren't suitable for high call volumes.??? i have seen phantoms set up as the primary answer dn for vm with 1000's of users, although i don't build it that way, it wasn't causing a problem...

Just an observation I've made based on 2 sites where there where large volumes of calls going to phantoms and alot of the calls were failing to the Attn. When I changed them to ACD the problem vanished.

strange, i use maxp 1 acds for all my redirects except the few i put in an idc group.. this switch had phantom loops built but they were in the way of real loops, so i had to convert all of them.. to me, like yourself acd's are fast clean and simple, and they don't burn tn's

Yeah the greeting is not ok and this line 1000 is for high call volumes. Can somoene help me put this on a phantom?

just build a set, an a tn above unit 15 ie 4 0 0 16, you can use analog or digital, i usually use an analog with remote call forwarding allowed and scpw set so that a user can change the forward to target..

You will not get "The person at extn 1000 is on the phone" if you set the CLS of the mailbox to personal. Then go into the CLS and change "Caller Notified of Busy Line" to no.

It will go to your greeting but without "The person you have called is on the phone".

record your answer msg under your greeting and delete your greeting still making it a personal cos with answer with name checked.. my mb is set that way and you don't get any prompts for the lady in the box
