Hello,

I have this website that I do updates with minor SEOs.
But, by far I am no experts on SEO.

I have been getting more than enough phone calls & e-mails from other SEO companies promissing a lot of things at various cost.

Recently this new comapany got a hold of me and I find them interesting... but my feeling is in bad way.
So, I need some expert help.

The site is listed in Google 17th and 19th position on 2 of the keywords - almost only keywords that I consider of.
Due to the nature of the products, CPC or adwords are not options for this site.

This SEO company is offering top 20, top 10, top 5 or top 2 position guarantee on 6 or more of majoy search engines.
No, I am interested in their top 5 or top 2 position guarantee. - they are saying I can be in top 5 or top 2 on Google on the 2 key words I want.
They even went on and showed me some of their clients results. One of them were listed 1st on Google on certain keyword.
But interesting thing I found was the client's site's PageRank & Backwards Links.
PageRank of 2 & Backwards links of 0.
Yet, number 1 on Google.
This goes against everything I ever learned on this forum and others.

Their fees for these top5 or top2 service is high, but my site owner is still willing to pay as long as it will bring the site to top5 or top2.

The SEO company is calling me like everyday to sign this thing up. The site owner is leaving the decision to me, but I know he wants to go ahead with this (as long as it will bring the site to top5 or top2). But, my head is keep saying NO.

I NEED your expert opinion on this matter. Thank you!

Hi mate,

Simple answer, avoid them.

NO company can guarantee you a certain placement in an engine, they can only do their best to get you good results. They can however guarantee a refund if you don't get placed.

Did they show you proof that the site was a client of theirs? Is it a common keyword? Does it relate well to a term people will use to find that site?

The biggest reason I say to avoid them is that a genuine company should not keep calling you everyday to buy something, this company sounds like a scam.

It sounds like they use spam techniques.

Hope this helps Wullie
