We are running GW 6.5.4. Unfortunately, I also need to do training on Outlook 2003 so I need to load it on my laptop. It will be connecting to a totally different server (not the GW one) and using a different email account. I am not trying to import my GW into Outlook.

Laptop is Dell Latitude D810 with 1GB RAM & Windows XP Pro; Novell network.

I thought Novell had info as to how to make them co-habitate but I can't find it!

If anyone can steer me to the right place or give me more info, I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks...

It's very difficult to cohabitate.

My recommendation is to use VMWARE. It's great for staging, troubleshooting, and training, plus you don't have to worry about screwing with your own configurations.

The techs won't do that on my laptop...but thanks.

go to the control panal the go in to the mail program. go in to your profiles it should have a novell default setting and on outlook on if you set it up so it prompt for a profile to be used but change the alway use profile to outlook and click the prompt button you can have a differnt outlook account and server

it will prompt you when you log in to outlook to pick a profile if this is a problem just leave it on outlook as the profile and always use this profile

I need to be able to use both Groupwise (my work email) and Outlook 2003 (on the customer's Exchange Server).

you chould be able to i you set the profile to outlook the novell groupwise does not care you will see a little bit of funny things with groupwise though

Uh oh..."little bit of funny things"? Such as? Why, oh, why do these companies make things so difficult for us trainers??? (Rhetorical question, sorry)

Wait... The question is "Why does Microsoft make things so difficult".. it's their limitations that Novell has had to adapt to.

Agreed! Things have gotten more complicated but I sure don't want to go back to the days of DOS and no hd's...
