Need freeware php script to add, delete, edit, etc MySql db

I have been trying to us phpAdmin to browse, add, delete, edit, and view records and I can't take it anymore!!!

I need something more functional that displays the records in table or spreadsheet format. I am poor so I need some good freeware. Any helpful input would be appreciated.

pma displays data in a table format.
it's a standart-programm, so you can't ask it to be perfectly handy for all databases.it will never be... it's not there to work with the data, that's just a feature to help you out if somethings wrong with your specialized app, it's purpose is to administer databases you have on your server

must it be using php? could you use the tools provided by MySQL AB?
