I have a table (EMPPAREL) that contains, for purposes of this example, only two fields: EMPLOYEE number and DATE. There are multiple records for each employee, each with a unique date. I need the SELECT for the table to only return one record for each employee, the one with the most current date.

I think I need a Formula, but I do not know how to construct it. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Insert a Group on {EMPPAREL.EMPLOYEE}, then go to the Report menu > Selection Formulas > Group, and enter:
[tt]
{EMPPAREL.DATE} = Maximum({EMPPAREL.DATE},{EMPPAREL.EMPLOYEE)
[/tt]
