Everytime I add data into column D5 then I need column N5 to add a number.

Ex: Everytime I place the name caveman75 in Column D then I need it to add to Column N line 5.

Please rephrase your question so it makes more sense.

D5 and N5 are cells, not columns.

What is it exactly that you want in cell N5?

-Why use a big word when a diminutive one will do?-

Im sorry about that. What I am trying to do is find the formula that will enable me to list a name in one column (Column C in example) and then add the number of times it was used in another cell (Column E in example). This is an example of what I am looking to do:

Column C Column D Column E
Caveman75 CAVEMAN75 5 <- Sum #of times here
Caveman75 GONZO 2
Caveman75
Caveman75
Caveman75
Gonzo
Gonzo

Something like this:

=countif($C$1:$C$80,D1)

assuming caveman75 is in D1 and the list of names is in C1:C80
