I just took over a new sysadmin job and after a month I finally have a chance to streamline to server. Its running 2k3 in RAID5, volumes are C,D,E. Using disk management I noticed that C only has 6 gigs left out of 40. E has 60 gigs of free space. So, Id like to take 30 gigs from E and allocate it to C. Do I need to convert volumes to dynamic in order to do this or is it part of the RAID configuration utility?

No converting to dynamic disks won't help you, you need a utility like Volume Manager to repartion (or wipe, repartion and restore). RAID utilities also won't help as they just deal with the RAID volumes not how that data is used by the OS (which is where partitioning comes in).
