need folder name to include date it was made 1

I recently transferred a working macro from system 9 to OX10. The program is supposed to create a folder on the desktop with a speific name and the date it was created. The command is MKDir "Path name:folder name " & Date
I got the program to create the folder with name but there is an error in the & date part. Do you know what is going on?

You may try to use Date$ instead of Date as the / character is illegal in a file name.
