Hi,

I need a little help with getting a calculation working here. I have a report which is used for a health region and I am trying to gather the total number of theatre hours needed (for the whole report) so that I can then get a percentage for each details line. I am using Crystal 9.

How it works:

I have a column called "theatre hours" which displays for each details line the number of hours used. (Eg. 457 for Podiatry, 789 for Pediatrics, etc.)

I then have a sum of those hours displayed at the bottom of my report. (Eg. 12,179 total hours used by all services for given time period.)

I need that final grand total to do my calculation for each of my details lines to that I can get the percentage of the total, overall hours for each hospital service (like what the percentage of the total theatre hours that Podiatry uses.) (Eg. 3.75% for Podiatry as it was 457/12,179 -- so 3.75% is what I want to display in a percentage column for Podiatry)

TIA for any help.

If you have only one detail row per specialty, then you can use:

{table.theatrehours} % sum({table.theatrehours})

Thanks for the response lbass, but I get "A running total cannot refer to a print time formula."

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks again.

This is not a running total. Create the formula in the formula editor and then place it in the detail section.
