need fast ftp transfers

I own a business and occasionally need to transfer files via FTP. My current ftp server is very slow, uploading, downloading, and moving around. How can I find one that is fast and reliable.

Fast to transfer dss audio files over.

Or are they all the same?

Sure, it's windows xp home edition.

Bandwidth is most likely your limiting factor. FTP is a pretty basic transfer protocol. Try zipping your files first. You could also consider something like rsync.
