Exchange noob.

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 running on Windows SBS 2008 (Windows Server Standard FE). All email clients are Office/Outlook 2010 running on Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Exchange hosts only 3 mailboxes.

I want to to schedule an export of each mailbox to a .pst file every evening.
The exports must save to an external usb drive attached to the server.
I want the exports done at midnight.
I can't do the exports from the client workstations. (All clients are laptops and the users take them home.)
I need the server to to a scheduled .pst export to the usb drive.
How do I do this?

*Note - I cannot spend money on a 3rd party backup solution like BackupExec or Symantec SSR. I'm hoping the server/Exchange has some type of native utility to do this.

Can you please advise.

Sorry, what you want is impossible. It was possible in Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2010, but not Exchange 2007.

I had a client once who had a virtual SBS 2008 server hosted in a datacenter and he needed to do exports, so we had to virtualize a Win7 workstation just to do the exports from. Your only option is going to be finding a 3rd-party product to do it, since the functionality is just not there natively.
