I hope I can explain this adequately. I am working on a spreadsheet which lists a large number of windows CE devices purchased over the last four years. These come with a 2 year warranty and we place them on an extended warranty plan for 3 more years once the manufacturer warranty expires. I need to start tracking them electronically rather than maintaining large paper files.

I'm hoping there is a way to determine the extended warranty start date for each device as determined by the manufacturer warranty end date. So for example, a device purchased on 09/22/2005 would have a manufacturer expiration date of 09/22/2007 and the extended warranty will begin on 10/01/2007 (since we pay for the extended warranty by month the extended warranty date is effective on the first day of the month following the manufacturer warranty expiration). I want to apply a function to the field containing the Extended warranty effective date (Column E in my spreadsheet). What is the easiest way to do this? Thank you so much!

So you want a formula in column E to return the first day of the month following the date in column D, right?

Hi,

If your purchase data is on A2...
[tt]
=date(year(A1)+2,Month(A2)+1,1)
[/tt]
is your warranty start date.

Thanks Skip. I figured as much when I saw it. Thanks for your help!
