Does anyone know how to correct the following problem?:<br>

When uploading a word document with the Em dash symbol, the file when coded in html converts the Em dash to a short dash.<br>

Is there a way to make sure that this and other text converted symbols such as the degree mark maintain their integrity during the html process? Or rather, what is the Dreamweaver fix for this?<br>
