Hello all,
I am looking to do business with a retailer that requires EDI communication though an AS2 protocal.
I have found several outsourcers who can take in orders, but I also need to find a way for our logistics partner (DHL in this case) to generate UCC128 labels and send ASN's to match the orders and invoices to the retailer. What I am finding is that our outsourcer is unwilling to accept an upload from our logistics partner, making manual entry with their web based solution a pain and time consuming. DHL indicated that they can create UCC128 labels on their end, along with the ASN's, but it gets a bit tricky. If I have them download the UCC128 labels created by the outsoucer, our pick/pack price goes up as they would prefer to generate the UCC128 labels themselves.
Our retail partner requires that all "third parties" are approved by them, kind of limiting my selection. However, I am wondering that if DHL was to purchase an account though a company (such as isoft) if that would allow them to send these ASN's (containing the proper UCC128 information) to the retailer. Considering that isoft is approved as an AS2 communticator with many retailers, would this be sufficient to please the IT dept. at the retailer?
Our budget is tight, but this is required. I am also curious in anyone out there knows of an outsource EDI company that would be easy to integrate into a small company that is doing invoicing in-house, but logistics out and still fit the needs of the major retailers requiring EDI.
I apologize if this is confusing, but any advice/thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!
