Need DSL router recommendation for use with VPN

I just had DSL installed and my ISP used a Lucent DSLPipe/Cellpipe 50A. In reading information, I found that people are having difficulty using this box for VPN. I am relocating my NT4 server to this location ASAP and need to have VPN access (which is configured at the current location using a leased frame line and a cisco router). Unfortunately, my NT Server management skills are limited.

Q 1...any known problems with the cellpipe or recommendations for alternative inexpensive router?

Q 2...Any recommendations on changes needed to be made to the NT Server? Will upgrading to Server 2000 gain benefits for this transition?

I'm in the same boat and now believe that Cell pipe, sprint and VPN WILL NOT WORK. I've been talking to all parties and experts and have lost hope.

Maybe change carriers is the answer.

The cell pipe 50A will run VPN using Cisco VPN 3000. This is
the only vpn application i have seen work. I would advise if your VPN is to be installed to use a single DSL modem. The modem will pass all data. Static ip's are availble from Sprint. Be advised that Sprint is looking into other options because the 50A is limited. Jeter@LasVegas.com

I have been heavily involved with Sprint and Lucent and the Cellpipe 50A does not support VPNs easily other than maybe the cisco solution mentioned above.

Sprint is putting heavy pressure on Lucent to upgrade the firmware to support this and hopefully within 2 months this should be fixed.

The modem idea is the best and works great, but has no built in firewall, so remember to take care of that.

If you have to share the connect, we've connected a cheap ($150) linksys router to the modem and it works like a champ and is EASY to setup.
